To be content;

To be ambitious;

To be selfless;

To be hedonistic;

To seek the familiar;

To seek the unknown;

To know humanity;

To know primality;

To follow tradition;

To forge one’s own;

To seek peace;

To seek adventure;

To find stability;

To embrace caprice;

To create civilization;

To explore the wilderness;

Each knew their way was the truth,

Just as they knew the other was their opposite;

Yet they could not-

Would not-

Deny the other

Their own purpose.

And between

The many

Profound,

Captivating,

Enlightening,

Eye-opening,

Axioms,

Passions

There was truth.


And the first of the truths was love;

And love thus beget the world.

Their dreams and visions became the twinkling firmament;
Him the sun in daytime,
Her the moon at night.
She planted the woods and wilds, raised the mountains from bedrock;
He set flagstones, wound and wove the roads between them.
It was their garden;

Their proving grounds;

And it was beautiful.
Man

And beast

Flourished under their watchful, proud eye.
And so their world grew,
And prospered,
Day

And night

For generation after generation.




But now?
The land is splintered.
The stars fall from the firmament.
The two are disjoint.
Discordant.
Apart.
Gone?
The fabric of the world is broken.

Love

Is broken.




But as the stars fall
As hope comes to the earth
Love comes with it.



And just as love made the world,

Bardsong is a pan-fandom, sex-positive game inspired by tabletop games and JRPGs.
